The reading portion of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills® (ITBS®) was administered to Utah public school students enrolled in the third grade. This test is referred to as the "Iowa Reading Test." The purpose of the test is to create nationally normed results that provide objective, external measures of students’ reading achievement at the student, school, district, and state levels. The nationally standardized, norm-referenced test provides an achievement comparison for students in a third-grade national reference group. The Iowa Reading Test is comprised of two separate tests, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension, and provides a sound measure of academic achievement based on common reading skills taught in the third grade. |
